CHILDREN'S Handcrafting With Plants-
$25.00

Handcrafting with plants has been an integral part of human history. Whether it’s basket weaving , herbal kit building or learning about the benefits of the plants utilized in your family culture, humans and plants can have a symbiotic relationship.

In these teachings, you can expect to leave with knowledge pertaining to each plant introduced in the workshops. These workshops will be more about handcrafting and creating and less about gathering.

Handcrafting with plants is for you, if you are :

Someone that would like to learn plant identification

Someone that wants to build a deeper understanding to utilizing plants

Interested in respecting different cultures and lore around the plants

Curious about building a new skill set

At times we will go on small plant walks, however this is not the focus of the handcrafting.

This class will be limited in plant walks and foraging. If you are interested specifically on understanding the region of where the plants come from and where to gather please visit FORAY outings.

Price is per person per workshop.

All workshops will include any materials necessary to be successful in class unless otherwise noted.

Children must be 3 years and older to participate in the workshop. Drop off is OPTIONAL for parents that have children that are 5 years + AND able to follow safety instructions (respond to name, toilet independently and follow 1 to 2 step instructions)

Eating wild foods is a great way to explore the environment while understanding human impact. We will dive into various ecosystems and learn how to properly identify wild foods. While some plants will be only available for observation, other plants will be available for tasting.

The expectation of foraging with us, will be that all individuals are able to follow the directions of the instructor or have an adult accompany them for safety purposes.

Foraging does involve light hiking. I will share my plant knowledge based on personal experience obtained from hands on learning, instructors and a variety of cultures.

While this class will be secular in nature, it is important to note that there are cultural practices that should be honored and respected while foraging.
